Welcome to Sussex Brass I would like to personally welcome you to Sussex Brass Band. If you check out the History page of the web site you will see that the band has been in operation for a long time. You may well see some of the young members in the photos in the band today. See if you can spot anyone. As a new member we hope you enjoy playing and have fun during your stay with us. The band is a charity band but does receive money from performances around the county. We do charge a subscription fee which cover the cost of the Music Director, Insurance and Liability, Maintenance of band instruments, new music, rehearsal room rent and general running costs. We also compete in either or both Hove and Folkstone competitions. If you do not have an instrument, do not worry as we have a large selection available for loan. As a new member could I please ask you to complete the application form and forward by e-mail to the secretary. If you are under 18 years of age, please ensure your parents complete the Next of Kin Form, sign and present to the secretary. Sussex Brass Membership Next of Kin Form May I also remind you to read the constitution and the band rules. We rehearse in All Saints Church Sidley on Monday evenings. The band does not reimburse for travel expenses. Dress A uniform is also provided in the form of a Band Jacket, Bow Tie, Short Sleeved White embossed shirt, Black Shirt. We do expect you to provide Black trousers/skirt, black shoes and socks for performances. Each performance dress code will be provided at the reheasal before the concert and published on the Calendar on the Web site. A List of Trustees are published on the web site and in the band room. The Band Room notice board also contains a paper copy of the constitution and Band Rules. Also attached to the Notice Board are the last meeting minutes and up to date Calendar and General Information. The band has an extensive Music Library which can be viewed on line. Please feel free to suggest music we do not have as we budget each year for the purchase of new items. If you have any questions or are not sure about anything please contact a trustee who will point you in the right direction. Enjoy playing and providing enjoyment to the public during our performances.
